CMAS Cave I Instructor Course
(Cavern Diving Instuctor)
Course Overview
The course is designed to teach instructors to train the open water diver to dive safely in an
overhead environment. This course is an extension of recreational diving designed for the
use of a SINGLE TANK, and upon completing the course, a diver will possess the skills,
knowledge, dive planning abilities, and problem solving techniques to safely cavern dive
within no-decompression limits.
Pre-requistes
Minimum age of 20.
One Star instructor certified.
Advanced Nitrox instructor certified.
Proof of 300 logged dives of which 100 are cavern dives, 30 cave dives in zone 2, 20 cave
dives in zone 3 of wich 5 are in 40msw in 10 different systems.
Proof of assisting 2 complete cave 1 divers.

Equipment requirement
The Cave I Instructor course has some specific equipment requirement more than your
standard recreational dive gear. The candidate needs to add to the standard kit two diving
torches, a spool, a mainline reel, wet notes, line arrows and a wriste slate.
