CMAS Cave III Instructor Course
(Cave Diving Staff Instructor)
Course Overview
The course is designed to teach instructors to train cave 2 divers advanced cave diving
planning and execution. This is the final step in the progression from Cave Instructor I
(Cavern Diver) to Cave Instructor III (Full Cave Diver). Techniques learned through earlier
courses are more fully developed and refined, with the cave diver exposed to more
sophisticated cave diving scenarios. Extremely few instructors in the world achieve this
level of advanced capability and training.
Pre-requistes
Minumum age of 30.
CMAS 2 Star instructor certified.
Cave II instructor certified.
Proof of 1000 logged dives of which 200 are cavern dives, 100 cave dives in zone 2 or 3 in
20 different systems.
Prood of teaching at least 2 Cave 2 divers.
Proof of assisting 1 complete cave 1 instructor.

The Cave III instructor course is a 4 day course and 8 dives are required.

Equipment requirement
The Cave III instructor course has some specific equipment requirement more than your
standard technical dive gear. The Cave III instructor program requires 3 lights, 2 spools
and main line, 2 cutting devices, wet notes, line arrow and cokkies.
